Even when the rare occurrence of having a clear schedule came up, he kept on working, albeit in a different sense than what he carried out in the office. As reclusive as he could be, he was still a human and required some contact, and so he decided to step out of the apartment and fulfill his social mingling quota for the week. Of course that wasn't his only motivation for taking a night on the town...People watching could be very informative at times, and the location he had in mind these evening was sure to prove especially interesting. Tannhauser Tavern had been established for a while now, carving out a niche as one of the few decent pubs in town...And if he had learned anything over the years, it was that alcohol made for loose lips. Certainly something useful would come up, it was just a matter of sifting through all of the banality of drunks.
Stepping into the tavern, the judge lingered near the threshold for a few moments as his olive eyes swept over the room. Though he was technically off-duty now, he was still as prim and proper as ever. Easily overdressed for the venue, his three piece suit was well-tailored for his lithe stature, covering him in stark greys and whites. The only thing that showed that he was at least a little more casual at the moment was the fact that his garish blue and green tie was slightly loosened about his neck. Head cocked to the side, he made note of those present before he started to head towards the bar counter. One hand raised, he swept a few long silver-grey bangs away from his angular face as he strode over. He put on one of his cool, placid smiles as he settled onto one of the stools located near the corner of the counter.
"Good evening," Yuri commented softly to the bartender that came over, "A tonic and lime please," He nodded to the man then shifted slightly on the stool, turning his attention back to the room proper. Rolling his shoulders, he leaned stiffly against the counter beside him, pale lips pursed in to a neutral line as he considered the crowd.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top]☆Pain Without Love ryuu never really tried to have a job outside of the gang. he knew his brother wouldn't approve, so he'd never asked to even look for a job. one would think that, at his age, ryuu would be able to make decisions for himself, but . . . that wasn't really the case. he loved his brother even after being forced into the gang; his brother was the only one he still considered family. if his brother rejected him - if he was thrust out of the gang and onto the streets - how would he even try to survive? he wouldn't be able to get a job because he didn't have any sort of education; to top it off, his brother would make sure no one hired him. ever.
the boy was currently supposed to be running errands for his brother, but he couldn't bring himself to go back. ryuu just wanted some time to himself; it got tiring having his brother watch over him every second. it was like he thought ryuu was going to go and get himself arrested or something! it wasn't like he looked like a gang member or anything, nor did he flaunt his powers. no one would know what or who he was. to most people, he'd just be another little kid - no one ever believed he was eighteen - that everyone would ignore, especially if he had his hood up. it wouldn't be a problem, not at all.
it was actually a last second decision to go to the tannhauser tavern. he had been walking by it and saw some interesting people walk in, so he decided to follow suit. with his hood up, he strolled in, looking around. it was pretty nice, though it looked like it might end up being a bit costly. he made his way to the bar and sat down next to some extremely overdressed man, sneaking a glance or two at him. " i'll have a, er, dr. pepper . . . please, " he asked the bartender shyly. the man gave ryuu an odd glance before going to get his soda. the boy was glad the man didn't kick him off the bar; it sucked to be in places where the bar area was completely twenty - one and up. while waiting, ryuu twisted back and forth on the swivel-y chair, ending up facing the overdressed man next to him. " it's a nice, er, day today, hm? "

There were the little things one could pick up on from afar, poise, body language, expression. Even if he couldn't hear them from where he currently perched, he could guesstimate what people were speaking of. The boozed grins and loose nodding told him enough. Head tilted at the sound of glass against wood, he turned back towards the counter and retrieved his drink. "Thank you," He commented softly, long fingers curled about the glass, picking it up to raise it to his lips for a small sip. Catching movement out of the corner of his vision, he canted his head to the side slightly as he watched a young male approach the bar and request a soda. His attention lingered on him for a moment before he peered back to the crowd, taking another sip of his beverage.
A quiet inquiry dragged his gaze back to the bar, and he glanced down to the youth beside him with a small arch of his thin 'brows. "Hello," The judge greeted coolly. He wasn't accustomed to being approached in such a setting, especially not by someone so much younger than himself. On top of that, social interaction was something he was rather lacking in outside of his job in general. With a soft inhale, he put on one of his professional smiles, the corners of his mouth quirking upwards slightly. "It's an alright evening, yes," His shoulders raised slightly in a faint shrug. Yuri couldn't personally call the evening good, not with the state of the city being what it was, but that certainly wasn't a topic of conversation for casual discussion.

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top]☆Pain Without Love the way the other male greeted ryuu sent a shiver down the male's spine. he'd only ever heard a few people talk to him in that kind of voice, and it was oddly . . . well, odd. the smile wasn't much help; he seemed like he wasn't used to this kind of thing. ryuu wiggled his nose as he drink got set in front of him - it was in a glass, he noticed, as if putting a soda can on the counter would take away from the atmosphere somehow - and, grabbing the glass with both hands like a child, sipped some of the drink. he smiled a bit at the taste; it was hard for ryuu to get soda like this. he wasn't really allowed out shopping much, and no other member of the gang could really go out without being arrested . . . well, that was the hardship of being ryuu. no soda.
" uh, so . . . do you come here often? it's my first time here, so i was wondering how it's like most of the time . . . " he said, trying to help start up a conversation. ryuu wasn't one for sitting quietly; not talking to someone long enough, ryuu was sure he'd end up going insane. that was probably the only reason people ever consented to let him out of his little hole. though he loved computers and technology - especially taking them apart and toying with them - human interaction was nice every once in a while. " i'm ryuu . . . and you? " he asked suddenly. it was only polite to trade names, right?

Something that Yuri didn't do very well in at all, at least not in a setting like this, not with the topic at hand. He blinked once, his olive gaze narrowing slightly. The look he gave the younger male wasn't unkind, rather it was distantly interested. He cataloged the various details of the boy, relative height, hair color, etcetera in case he had to recognize the stranger on another occasion. One never knew just who could end up being useful. It was better to note this information just in case. "I have been here a few times," He conceded finally with a faint nod.
Turning his attention back to the crowd, he sipped on his drink for a moment before he tilted his head towards the stranger beside him. At the sudden introduction, he quirked a thin 'brow. Ryuu. He filed the name away for later use and put on another one of his small smiles. "I am Yuri."

" yuri, hm? that's a nice name, " he complimented, flashing the older man a friendly smile. ryuu idly drew in the condensation on his drink, trying to quickly think of something to say to keep the conversation moving. he was hoping that yuri was a man that could get into lengthy conversations, but that it took a while to get him to say anything. it was a long shot, but he could at least try, right? " so, what brings you here? waiting for anyone or something? " he knew curiosity sometimes got the best of him, but it was just about the only thing he could think of that could possibly start up a conversation.

need is to concede because I won't be someone else I am not perfect and I don't claim to be And if that's what you wanted Well then I'm so sorry ❞ Sebastian came down from his flat above the tavern he like to take a small nap before the night rush when he could. As he came out from the back of the tavern he quickly spotted the neon blue defender of law and sighed. It was only a matter of time before something new would get stirred up but he was honestly surprised they sent an actual judge this time instead of an intern or bailiff. He was sorry about what happened to the last one and paid his fine that guy should have just handed him his papers and called it a day but the young punk of a court officer pushed all the wrong buttons and decided to get his jollies making an old man sweat. To bad for him this old man had be around legal circuit so long that he probably could actually pass the bar exam and score higher then most. Then again 10 years of constance legal action and another 16 of random on and off motions tends to do that to you. You just start to pick up on stuff and if your smart you hit the books yourself.
Sebastian dusted off his grey slacks and unrolled the sleeves on his white dress shirt buttoning them. A quick look in the bar mirror he straighten his light blue tie and smoothed out his hair and dark gray vest before making his way over to Yuri and the kid next to him. Sliding him he noticed the to talking so he took a moment to clear his throat before speaking.
"Sorry your honor if I knew you where waiting I would have come right down no one told me a court officer would be dropping by today...." He smiled quickly hopping he could get this over with quickly. "I already filled the paper work on the accident and paid my fines... though I still maintain that he was abusing his power and I only was defending myself... besides it was only a little frost bite."

Waiting for someone? Him, of all people? Who would be meeting someone like the judge at a tavern? Had he been the laughing type, he may have chuckled. Instead, his pale lips just pursed into a thin line, the corners of his mouth barely curling upwards. "The food and drink are adequate," He stated blankly, his shoulders rising and falling in a stiff shrug. For a few moments he turned his attention to his drink, eying the clear liquid before he finally brought it to his lips for a sip. After lowering it, he offered an awkward attempt at furthering the small talk by asking, "And why are you here?" Surely there had to be something more interesting to do than talk to someone that could be twice his age?
Soon another voice was vying for his attention and Yuri shifted his weight on his stool to turn towards the speaker. Head cocked to the side, he regarded the tavern owner with detached interest. In his mind he flipped through what he could recall of the man's court case...It had been too long ago for him to have a hand in the sentencing, but he remembered studying the case during his court case. His lips drew into one of his quirky, professional smiles. "Mr. Tannhauser," He greeted, a curious lilt tinging his voice, "I'm simply enjoying your lovely establishment," He mused, the compliment leaving him in a cool, smooth manner. "It is a public space, is it not?"

[atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=cellpadding,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=valign,top]☆Pain Without Love ryuu bit his lip, wondering how one person could be so terrible at conversation. the criminal wasn't too used to people being so one - sided in everything . . . he'd tried about all the tricks in his book for getting a conversation started, but nothing worked. the guy didn't seem to really want to start a conversation, but it wasn't like he was telling the younger to leave him alone. maybe that'd have been easier than just answering his questions and not starting a real conversation. he nodded when the elder answered his question, a little taken aback when he attempted to keep the conversation going.
" oh! i, um. dunno, really. just kinda . . . was bored. saw someone come in here and it looked interesting so i came in, " he explained, finishing up his drink. seeing the new person show up, ryuu cocked his head to the side. your honor? he looked between the two during their exchange. wait, so . . . yuri was a judge!? ryuu tried not to let some of the panic show on his face. he wasn't too used to being around judges; that, and his brother always told him to not to get too near to law enforcement. trying to busy himself with his hands, ryuu looked into his lap. " f-frost bite . . . ? " he asked softly, curious about if this person had powers or if it was just some sort of coincidence.

"Oh yes of course this is a public place... so your not here about..." he let it drop of course he was not here about any of his legal crap what was he thinking. "I'm sorry Sir just been on edge lately every time I think I got all the vipers warped up some new one shows up with some real or fabricated angle to bleed a long guy for a few more pints of blood." He looked at the glass on the bar that the waiter put there earlier to keep the tab for the seat pulled it out and signed it with a small note. "Sorry to interrupt you and your son the meal and drinks are on me."
He smiled and looked over at Ryuu and laughed a bit. "Oh yes your to young to know... Yeah I used to be a hero but that was a long time ago probably before you were born to be honest." He shrugged. "But I'm just a civy these days... just passing the time tending bar and watching the world race by."

The whole situation bemused him, and had he been the type for overt sympathy, he may have offered some comfort. As it was, he simply nodded slowly, lips pursed into that well-practiced professional smile. "It's quite alright, Mr. Tannhauser. Should I ever come here on a more official capacity, you will be notified through the standard channels of course." Raising his drink, he took a small sip, and it was only his steely self-control and composure that kept him from doing a spit take.
Casting a sidelong glance at Ryuu, his expression faded to a neutral line, before he glanced back to the tavern owner. "We are not related, but your gesture is appreciated." He couldn't let the mistake stand, the mere thought of having kids of his own made Yuri very uncomfortable. Had he not come here with a purpose, he would have promptly removed himself from the situation. The judge wouldn't let himself be deterred so easily though, so he simply shifted a bit on his stool, turning his olive gaze to the gathered patrons. "Mr. Tannhauser was one of the youngest in his day, I do believe," He commented idly to the two.
