Alex was given his chance to do good, but instead he was always the problem child of his family. Being the middle child of Five, he was given Next powers out of them all. He took it as a gift but he really didn't know about it till later in life. When he was younger, he always fought with the other kids because they didn't like him. It was only that one day, they took it too far and they threw him into a moving car. It was then that his Next ability had kicked in to save his life, he had burned the car in half and the children had ran for there life's.
It was then that he had to move to the big city, away from the country side. Instead of going to the academy, he trained at his home with his plasma flames. He keeps a garden on his balcony to remind him of home, despite his burning personality. One day he was skating on the streets, and a car was driving to fast for it's own good. He skated quicker down the street, when the car was about to hit a women and a child in the stroller. He activated his Next powers, using the flames to propel his skateboard quicker then the car. Grabbing the women and child before the car had hit them, and brought them to safety. Then quickly left the scene without a word, but he didn't expect a letter to come from the Poseidon Line that they wanted him to be a sponsor for them. He didn't know what to say at all, but he accepted the request as a source of more income while he went to school
