...Within the gathering of Lies

Organized crime has become everything but organized. Criminals do what they want when they want. There in no longer any order between the major crime families. Especially in New York City. One man, Ellis, has made it his life mission to change that. To bring order back to the world of crime. No one knows what he looks like, or who he is. He runs the operations from the shadows. However, while he hides his face, his message is nothing but known. Ellis' crusade is under two years old but his power is already taking hold of New York.
There is no shortage of those who wish to work for Eliis. And for those that still wish to keep their freedom, there is nothing Ellis' men will not do to persuade them otherwise. Eliis has already taken down several very powerful groups and is not afraid that take down more. The Irish mob's strong footing in Hell's Kitchen has already been taken down and they and several other gangs answer to him now. Even the Mafia has seen the man's worth and in recent months have began to back his operations. A push that only makes him that much, more dangerous.
Not everyone is so thrilled with the new control. None have fought harder against the New Order than the Russian mob. Though Ellis has tried to claim their territory of Brighten Beach more than once, but they have always been able to fight off the advances; been able to keep they're hold of power. And they plan on using that power to do everything they can to stop Ellis. But what if they can't stop him? What if Ellis takes total control. Or what if the Russians are able to stop him? What if the power shifts? What if the Mafia changes their minds? Neither outcome seems favorable to those around the war. Dozens of people on both sides have already lost their lives I the fighting. And even more innocent lives have been sacrificed, and the death tolls are only going to get higher.
The high death count is what drew Federal Bureau of Investigation into the fight. Gang and Mob violence is nothing new to law enforcement officers. The New York police department has even became one of the best at fighting such violence. However, because of how Ellis operates it has become very hard to gain any kind of footing in the battle. And though the best of the NYPD and FBI have been put on the case the knights in shinning armor are falling sort. And for once the good guys might not win.
Especially since Ellis' power even extends into the Law Enforcement world. Corruption is nothing new in New York, and Ellis has exploited this fact for his own gain. Pay offs, threats, and more seem to be more common in police departments, even the FBI building, than true, unbiased policing. No one is safe. And no one can be trusted.
