DRIED UP, FALLEN TO THE GROUND
★ APPEARANCE
With his often scruffy white hair and dark red eyes Lance tends to stand out in a crowd, even though he only stands at the rather typical height of 5'8" for his age. He weighs at around 57kg, making him somewhat thin for his height but not enough to be considered "underweight". In terms of clothing Lance doesn't really have one thing he sticks to, usually switching up between various styles depending on his current mood and what he could be bothered to throw on his body that morning.
★ PERSONALITY
In many ways Lance is a teenager full of contradictions. He's both passionate and determined yet somehow at the very same time cynical and jaded, which seems impossible until you meet him. He's the kind of person who'd rush in to save someone without a second thought before berating the same person they just saved about how much of an idiot they were for getting into trouble in the first place, before proceeding to go and help another person they just heard was in trouble.
More often then not Lance seems to have a switch that seems to turn off and on at what seems random. He'll be apathetic and reserved only for someone to say something that sets him off on a spirited rant about how he disagrees with them, for one example. Quite often he can end up being in a kind of frustrated, most of all at himself, middle-ground where his thoughts and opinions can end up switching on the fly, he's even been known to almost end up arguing with himself.
That said Lance isn't crazy... Well, he's no more insane then any other person. It's more to do with the way he views life, which is very much a kind of cognitive dissonance. He both wants and strives for people to be safe and protected, to the best of his abilities, while believing that most people don't deserve to be safe and protected. He tries to make the world a better place but he knows that no matter what he does he'll never make any proper impact, yet he still tries anyway. He'd hate himself if he didn't, he hates himself for doing. It's lose-lose.
For many reasons, some more obvious then others, Lance doesn't tend to get along well with other people. He always doubts anyone who tries to befriend him's intentions, while others tend to be put off by his strange and contradictory views and behaviour along with how he tends to lash out at others in his frustrations. Lance much prefers to spend his time alone, watching the sky with a clear mind. It's one of the few times he feels truly at peace.

★ Backstory
Lance didn't ever get along with his parents, for various reasons. You see Lance's parents were poor, very poor, meaning that in many ways they couldn't properly provide for him while he grow up. So in response to this Lance decided that he was going to get what his parents often couldn't get him by stealing it for himself, something that he became exceedingly good at as he got older as his skills improved and his entourage of... Less the reputable characters grew bigger. His parents did not approve, for though they were poor they also worked hard, even as around them crime was rife.
Time went on and things got worse where Lance lived, what was originally just minor and petty crimes got worse and worse. Lance steered clear from them as much as he could but it was impossible not to see, even if he tried to ignore it. He felt the want to act and do something, but he felt weak and powerless... And how could he be such a hypocrite to stop those people when he himself was a thief? He told himself to remain apathetic, nothing he could do would ever change anything, what would the actions of one person really mean? But it still ate away at him, until eventually he ended up doing something.
It was a mugging in an alleyway, it would've been easy to ignore, but Lance caught the look in the victim's eye as he past by the darkness. It stopped him in his tracks, it made him angry. Incredibly angry, for a teen who in many ways was completely apathetic. Next thing he knew he was glowing blue and flying straight at the mugger, somehow feeling lighter then a feather. It was only after the fact that Lance realized that he had somehow managed to ignore gravity's effects completely, that he was in fact a NEXT.
He managed to scare off the mugger and save the person, even though he was very much confused by his newfound power. Something about doing that felt right to him, about actually doing something about the bad things he saw. Not long after did he sign up to join the Hero Academy. However not soon after arriving did he find that the person whom he had saved had been killed as soon as he left before his family got attacked and his house burned down, both supposedly by the mugger he had stopped along with his friends. Certain that it was his fault Lance suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of dread, especially as he continued to try and learn only to fail at every single thing he tried. Was he just not destined to be a Hero? His mind told him he would fail, but something told him that he should stay and keep trying. It wasn't as if going back now was going to accomplish anything, if anything it'd cause more trouble in the mugger saw him again...

Yes
--Gravity Control: Lance has the ability to manipulate gravity, from the direction that it pulls to it's strength. However, at least for the time being, he is only able to manipulate it's effect on himself and whatever he happens to be touching at the time.
Lance can use his control of gravity to 'fly' either by completely negating gravity on himself and pushing off objects to gain momentum or by changing the direction he is pulled, though this is more akin to falling in a different direction to the ground. Also by lowering the effect gravity has on him he can effectively increase his physical strength, as there is less stress on his muscles. It's also possible to fling objects and people who he happens to touch, but due to the effect dispersing as soon as he stops touching them it isn't particularly effective.
Changing the direction that gravity pulls him can cause Lance to become disorientated briefly, and if he is forced to change the direction that it pulls him in quick succession the effect can end up lasting longer. Changing too much too fast can eventually cause him to be sick. Additionally if he spends too much time in altered gravity when he returns to normal he will often lose his bearings and need to have a brief rest as he gets back to normal gravity.
He is able to make gravity's pull change from 0 Newtons (1 Newton being Earth's gravity) to 20 Newtons, but going above 7 Newtons can be dangerous to his body while going up to and over 12 Newtons can cause permanent damage. If he ever does go up to, or close to, 20 Newtons he'll end up crushing himself with his own weight.

★ Weaponry
While Lance doesn't have a specific weapon he has a tendency to go with pole-like weapons if he gets in a fight and any are nearby, specifically medium-sized ones if he has any choice.
