SECOND LINE OF LYRIC HERE NOT TOO LONG OR SHORT
★ APPEARANCE
Alex is fairly easy to describe in a nutshell; a tall, ponytailed redhead in a suit, with perhaps the brightest green eyes you'll ever see. If going a little more into detail he also seems a bit too thin for his height of a notable 5 feet 9 inches, if he stands straight anyway that is (which he often doesn't), but that is merely an illusion of comfortable, none too tight clothing. Indeed, were he to throw his shirt off one could find he's actually somewhat toned even, with the faint shapes of muscles barely visible here and there. Don't believe me? Blame his occupation and lack of money, for being a reporter always on foot and or public transport will ultimately get just about anyone into decent shape.
To finish up about the aforementioned clothes, while not one to wear actual suits, he tends still to dress in a similarly formal-ish fashion to both come across as competent in his job and still retain ample mobility, latter in case he receives a sudden job offer and has to be off quickly. If judging by the occasional hints there might be a third reason for this as well, but if questioned he'll simply say its a secret of him and one another.

★ PERSONALITY
While some people are on occasion called two-faces, Alex takes it a step further, more than capable of acts that make it seem like the man not only has no less than three personalities crammed in his head, but that somewhere in there is also a switch that controls his changing between them with a quick, simple little flip. While two of them are visible through his everyday dealings, interactions with people, the last and rarest seen one is mainly reserved for whenever he's either by all by himself or otherwise utterly relaxed enough to feel utterly at ease.
To give an example on the first two, perhaps the clearest one of all would be how he deals with his job as a reporter. While not necessarily too much so by appearance Alex isn't above being official, potentially to the point of absurd politeness if need be, unabashed about sugar-coating words and giving praise to try sneak his way into his targets good graces. This doesn't mean that he'll be always uttering overdone verbal honey out of his mouth however, for something like being a simple nice guy is equally easy.
It is usually after achieving the aforementioned 'getting into good graces' that he properly bares his fangs. While he does have a knack for sweet-talking, this verbal proficiency also easily translates into the ability to make up quite the elaborate lies...lies Alex is equally unabashed of taking advantage of. While he will behave to some extent when under direct orders from his superiors, if he has free reins he turns into a predator in disguise. As long as he either knows or thinks there is something he could learn, or perhaps in turn something incriminating he could lure out of a criminal suspects mouth, he will play nice. After the juicy detail or literal testimony has been acquired, the gloves are off and his words turn comparable to stabs from a dueling schlager if he so wishes. While he won't be needlessly brutal, when he does get started there is practically nothing that will stop him, not money, not social standing, nothing. While its predictably gotten him into trouble a fair few times, ultimately this very same daring has also saved his backside more than once.
Being usually an outwardly nice guy in public, with a sharp tongue he could be as sudden to lash out with as nitroglycerin was volatile, one could only wonder how he is when not as seemingly perpetually concerned with his career as he usually is. Though not perhaps the most plausible fact due to how few know of it, Alex actually is as nice if not even nicer a guy than he often acts like. While he won't act so unless at utter peace, such a feeling of security something only a select few can instill, when he does he is perhaps one of the warmest people one will ever meet, not necessarily the most talkative individual but an all the better listener too. He isn't really a one to enjoy larger crowds either, rather than attending a loud drunken party preferring to spend the night relaxing together with one or few close friends. He won't completely abstain from alcohol, no (he has a thing for wine in fact), but definitely isn't a drinker either for he values his friends and loved ones. He prefers compromises over arguments, and would rather try to sort out differences than risk ruining relationships like he has seen ever so many do after the lure of the bottle got too great of a hold over them.

★ Backstory
Not much is known of Alex's childhood besides vague details such as him being an only child. Although he detests lies and often doesn't rest until he can uncover whatever mysteries he comes by, this particular one he can't help even himself, for perhaps the one detail in particular he can remember of his parents is that -while an attractive, seemingly happy couple- they were full of lies and deceit for each other in particular. Not a fan of bothering others with his issues, preferring to be the listener and helper instead, he just leaves it as is and whenever questioned replies he'd rather not depress others with such gloomy stories.
Regardless of that he is also grateful to it in a way, for not only did it leave him sensitive enough to lies to be able to pick them out with ease most of the time, it also taught him how to make up all kinds of lies himself. He did practice the skill himself a fair bit, that he isn't going to even try deny that, every boy and girl get into some amount of trouble during their lives after all. Rather than ending up like his parents like would have been the easy route, he wanted to do better, be better, discovering from himself a love for truth that he put in use by striving to become a reporter after graduating from school. After all, it was fairly common knowledge that the news and various other kinds of medias ever so often were guilty of distorting the truth after all.
Although he wasn't expecting things to end up even nearly that well, he actually began building himself a fairly successful career as soon as he did manage to land himself a job in the local newspaper. Turning his knack for lying into an unique manner of information gathering, he coupled it with his potentially brutal honesty and added quite some punctuality atop of it as well, standing out from the crowd of his colleagues as he was often able to find out things others couldn't, before them, and presented them as they truly were too rather than twisting them into a more "favorable" shape.
Like how all good things come to an end though, so did Alex's success for the more attention he drew to himself the bigger his job offers became, and in the end he bit too big a mouthful to chew and wound up angering one of their newspapers main sponsors. Needless to say reprimanding was due, of especially harsh type too as he refused to change his ways, so gradually his rise declined into a freefall of the most menial gigs, followed not much later by several pay-cuts, and finally a lay-off. Topped off with falsified rumors to try dirty his name he couldn't manage to land himself a job anywhere else in his hometown, not even the surrounding area either, so he was forced to move to try look for it from elsewhere and quickly, before he'd be left homeless on the streets.
Having heard stories of Sternbild City and its supposed heroes in particular, how they were such a big deal there 24/7 that they were an inseparable part of its culture more or less, he saw a golden opportunity to not just start over but perhaps uncover some of the greatest hoaxes he had ever seen or heard of too. Thus he decided to take the risk (and a good third of his remaining savings for the plane ticket), and travelled there for one last desperate effort to look for work, perhaps even the place he truly belonged, latter a feeling he had never truly felt in his birth town.

★ ETCETERA
While he has read and heard the stories, seen multiple videos as well, he has never actually seen a NEXT in person. Due to this he believes no such thing as people with mystical super powers exist.
Though he does also enjoy cooking his own meals, the amount of success with anything other than pasta foods is often up to chance. While he might manage a slobbering inducingly good a result, its just as likely a burnt crisp even a cockroach wouldn't eat is all that'll be left.
Lastly but certainly not the least, due to not being too wealthy he has often no other means to fix his camera or other reporter equipment than just his own hands. This led into him developing a bit of a knack for tinkering over time as he began learning of other machines too out of curiosity, the technical know-how he amassed that way leaving him not just able to repair all kinds of things but perhaps alter or even improve them in some cases too.
